The FNOBA Winter School (Escuela de invierno) showcases a conversation between the director and author Florencia Werchowsky and the composer Oscar Strasnoy. The videos are directed by Alejo Moguillanski.
According to Werchowsky, these meetings are a “virtual invitation to free-associate, the purpose of which is to propose constellations of plausible meanings for two iconic operas of the repertoire [Puccini’s La Boheme and Bartok’s Bluebeard’s Castle]. So that each of our spectators can make a perceptual and conceptual summary that can best suit his/hers interests in understanding the authorial decisions that characterize the works”.
This invitation is addressed particularly, and not especially, to those artists dedicated to the different disciplines and topics that emerge from opera (composers, dramaturgists, directors, performers), today turned into a chimera rather than a genre.
The meetings are based on historical documentation, as well as archival images of the operas, and feature the special participation of Aki Kaurismäki and Carlos Paez Rodriguez.
